Working while homeschooling, people hear that and wonder how can you do both. While, you can if you have the means, drive and support. It takes finding the right fit, motivation and balance.
For me, working is a necessity. My family needs my income so I work outside the home two days a week. My schedule works around my husband's schedule. His day off during the work week is one day I work and then I work every Saturday. Yes, this schedule does limit our family time together but we do what is necessary for our family.
That is only one of the three ways I bring in income for my family though. The second way is something that does not require me leaving the house and I make my own schedule and I can literally work it anywhere. I am a Thirty-One consultant and this job is super easy and fun for me. I can work this business at the girls' soccer games, on my lunch break at my other job and even in my pajamas after everyone has gone to bed. The side gig jobs are great for stay at home parents and they can be very fulfilling when you have the drive and motivation to do it.
The third way I bring in income is something I just started and only because the family could use a little bit more income due to inflation right now. I got a remote tutoring job for FrogTutoring. Now as a homeschooling parent, this could be really great as you set your hours and you pick what you can tutor. Now, I have a business management degree not a teaching degree so I chose elementary level as I am homeschooling my now third grader so I can tutor those levels without biting off more than I can chew. We shall see how this one goes and I will update you all as I work with them.
As you can see, working while homeschooling is feasible. I even know people who work during the day and do schoolwork with the kids at night. You find what works best with your family and schedule and then you do it. It may take a few tries but I like you will manage.
